Afro-Latin-Indian Scholarship Fund  - (203) 575-4202

The Afro-Latin-Indian Festival, held from 1985-2003, was the result of three community leaders discussing a dream that would show, by example and celebration, the contributions made to the visual and performing arts by individuals of Black, Hispanic and Native American descent. The purpose of the Festival was to support local students through the Afro-Latin-Indian Festival Scholarship Program.  Since then, over 190 students have received scholarships and awards totaling more than $450,000.  All of this is funded through donations and fundraising efforts.  This scholarship is open to any student who is in grade 6 – 12 and either lives or attends school in Waterbury.
