New Opportunities seeks volunteers to read to children for National Literacy month

New Opportunities is seeking volunteers to visit one of our Early Childhood centers in Waterbury to read Dr. Seuss books to children as a part of National Literacy month. Volunteers of any age are welcome including students and retirees.

Volunteers interested in reading are welcomed to bring their own book, or use one of the books provided. Reading times are from 9am to 12pm, and 3pm to 5pm Monday through Friday with the time commitment being 30-45 minutes.

New Opportunities Early Childhood centers are located at 444 North Main Street (Muriel H. Moore Early Childhood Center), 74 North Walnut Street (Slocum Center) and 101 Pierpont Road (Pierpont Center).
