WX Teams Completes OSHA Confined Space Training
On September 17 and 18, 2015 the CT Weatherization Assistance Program Training and Technical Assistance Subgrantee, New Opportunities Inc. presented an annual Health and Safety Training event at the Institute of Environmental Management and Technology Training Center in Derby, CT.
22 attendees from the State and local Community Action Weatherization workforce completed a specially prepared curriculum that provided each attendee with 3 certifications, OSHA-10, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Confined Space Entry.
The event was organized in response to updated OSHA requirements for confined space entry, including Attics and Crawl spaces at residential Weatherization sites. This training was the first in the state for weatherization and home performance providers.
The training was 100% funded by the USDOE Weatherization Assistance Program.
